إِذْ عَلَىٰ دَاوُۥدَ مِنْهُمْ لَا عَلَىٰ وَلَا إِلَىٰ ﴿٢٢﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

When they entered upon David and he was alarmed by them? They said, "Fear not. [We are] two adversaries, one of whom has wronged the other, so judge between us with truth and do not exceed [it] and guide us to the sound path.

    They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress."

  • فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْلَكِينَ

    So they denied them and were of those destroyed.

  • قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ

    They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing,

  • إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمًا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ

    When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you."

  • وَلَمَّا بَرَزُوا۟ لِجَالُوتَ وَجُنُودِهِۦ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
