They said, "We did not break our promise to you by our will, but we were made to carry burdens from the ornaments of the people [of Pharaoh], so we threw them [into the fire], and thus did the Samiri throw."

They said, ‘We did not fail our tryst with you of our own accord, but we were laden with the weight of those people’s ornaments, and we cast them [into the fire] and so did the Samiri.’

They said: We broke not tryst with thee of our own will, but we were laden with burdens of ornaments of the folk, then cast them (in the fire), for thus As-Samiri proposed.

They said: "We broke not the promise to thee, as far as lay in our power: but we were made to carry the weight of the ornaments of the (whole) people, and we threw them (into the fire), and that was what the Samiri suggested.

'We have not failed in our tryst with thee,' they said, 'of our volition; but we were loaded with fardels, even the ornaments of the people, and we cast them, as the Samaritan also threw them, into the fire.'

گفتند: ما با اراده خود با وعده تو مخالفت نکردیم، بلکه ما را وادار کردند که بارهایی سنگین از زیور و زینت این قوم را حمل کنیم، پس آنان را [در آتش] انداختیم و به همین صورت سامری هم [آنچه از زیور و زینت داشت] در آتش انداخت.

گفتند: «ما به اختیار خود با تو خلاف وعده نکردیم، ولی از زینت‌آلات قوم، بارهایی سنگین بر دوش داشتیم و آنها را افکندیم و [خود] سامری [هم زینت‌آلاتش را] همین گونه بینداخت.

Onlar: "Sana verdiğimiz sözden kendi başımıza caymadık. O milletin ziynet eşyasından bize yükler dolusu taşıtıldı. Biz onları ateşe attık, aynı şekilde Samiri de attı" dediler.

Mereka berkata: "Kami sekali-kali tidak melanggar perjanjianmu dengan kemauan kami sendiri, tetapi kami disuruh membawa beban-beban dari perhiasan kaum itu, maka kami telah melemparkannya, dan demikian pula Samiri melemparkannya",

قوم نے کہا کہ ہم نے اپنے اختیار سے آپ کے وعدہ کی مخالفت نہیں کی ہے بلکہ ہم پر قوم کے زیورات کا بوجھ لاد دیا گیا تھا تو ہم نے اسے آگ میں ڈال دیا اور اس طرح سامری نے بھی اپے زیورات کو ڈال دیا

তারা বললঃ আমরা তোমার সাথে কৃত ওয়াদা স্বেচ্ছায় ভঙ্গ করিনি; কিন্তু আমাদের উপর ফেরউনীদের অলংকারের বোঝা চাপিয়ে দেয়া হয়েছিল। অতঃপর আমরা তা নিক্ষেপ করে দিয়েছি। এমনি ভাবে সামেরীও নিক্ষেপ করেছে।
