ماعون

«ماعون» از ماده «مٌّعن» به معنای چیز کم است و منظور از آن در اینجا اشیای جزئی است که مردم مخصوصا همسایه‌ها از یکدیگر به عاریه یا تملک می‌گیرند. بدیهی است کسی که از دادن چنین اشیائی به دیگری خودداری می‌کند. دم بسیار بخیل و پستی است. پیغمبر اکرم(ص) فرمود: «کسی که ماعون (وسایل ضروری و کوچک) را از همسایه‌اش دریغ دارد. خداوند او را از خیر خود در قیامت منع می‌کند و به حال خود وا می‌گذارد و هر کس که خدا او را به حال خود وا گذارد. چه حال بدی خواهد داشت!»
