[You disbelievers are] like those before you; they were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. They enjoyed their portion [of worldly enjoyment], and you have enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion, and you have engaged [in vanities] like that in which they engaged. [It is] those whose deeds have become worthless in this world and in the Hereafter, and it is they who are the losers.

[Hypocrites! Your case is] similar to those who were before you, who were more powerful than you and more abounding in wealth and children: they enjoyed their share [of worldly existence]; you too enjoy your share, just like those who were before you enjoyed their share, and you have gossiped [impiously] as they gossiped. They are the ones whose works have failed in this world and the Hereafter; and it is they who are the losers.

Even as those before you who were mightier than you in strength, and more affluent than you in wealth and children. They enjoyed their lot awhile, so ye enjoy your lot awhile even as those before you did enjoy their lot awhile. And ye prate even as they prated. Such are they whose works have perished in the world and the Hereafter. Such are they who are the losers.

As in the case of those before you: they were mightier than you in power, and more flourishing in wealth and children. They had their enjoyment of their portion: and ye have of yours, as did those before you; and ye indulge in idle talk as they did. They!- their work are fruitless in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will lose (all spiritual good).

those before you, who were stronger than you in might, and more abundant in wealth and children; they took enjoyment in their share; so do you take enjoyment in your share, as those before you took enjoyment in their share. You have plunged as they plunged. Those -- their works have failed in this world and in the world to come; those -- they are the losers.

[همه شما منافقان و کافران در نفاق و کفر] مانند کسانی هستید که پیش از شما بودند؛ آنان از شما نیرومندتر و اموال و فرزندانشان بیشتر بود؛ آنان از سهمشان [که در دنیا از نعمت های خدا داشتند در امور باطل] بهره گرفتند؛ پس شما نیز از سهمتان همان گونه که آنان از سهمشان بهره گرفتند بهره گرفتید، و به صورتی که [آنان در شهواتشان] فرو رفتند فرو رفتید؛ اینانند که اعمالشان در دنیا و آخرت تباه و بی اثر است و در حقیقت اینانند که زیانکارند.

[حال شما منافقان‌] چون کسانی است که پیش از شما بودند: آنان از شما نیرومندتر و دارای اموال و فرزندان بیشتر بودند. پس، از نصیب خویش [در دنیا] برخوردار شدند، و شما [هم‌] از نصیب خود برخوردار شدید؛ همان گونه که آنان که پیش از شما بودند از نصیب خویش برخوردار شدند، و شما [در باطل‌] فرو رفتید؛ همان گونه که آنان فرو رفتند. آنان اعمالشان در دنیا و آخرت به هدر رفت و آنان همان زیانکارانند.

Ey ikiyüzlüler! Siz, sizden önce daha kuvvetli, malları ve çocukları daha çok olup, hisselerince bunlardan faydalanan kimseler gibisiniz. Sizden öncekiler, hisselerince faydalandıkları gibi siz de hissenizce faydalandınız ve onların batıla daldıklarıgibi siz de daldınız. İşte bunlar dünyada ve ahirette işleri boşa çıkanlardır, işte bunlar mahvolanlardır.

(keadaan kamu hai orang-orang munafik dan musyrikin) adalah seperti keadaan orang-orang sebelum kamu, mereka lebih kuat daripada kamu, dan lebih banyak harta dan anak-anaknya dari kamu. Maka mereka telah menikmati bagian mereka, dan kamu telah menikmati bagian kamu sebagaimana orang-orang yang sebelummu menikmati bagiannya, dan kamu mempercakapkan (hal yang batil) sebagaimana mereka mempercakapkannya. Mereka itu amalannya menjadi sia-sia di dunia dan di akhirat; dan mereka itulah orang-orang yang merugi.

تمہاری مثال تم سے پہلے والوں کی ہے جو تم سے زیادہ طاقتور تھے اور تم سے زیادہ مالدار اور صاحب هاولاد بھی تھے -انہوں نے اپنے حصّہ سے خوب فائدہ اٹھایا اور تم نے بھی اسی طرح اپنے نصیب سے فائدہ اٹھایا جس طرح تم سے پہلے والوں نے اٹھایا تھا اور اسی طرح لغویات میں داخل ہوئے جس طرح وہ لوگ داخل ہوئے تھے حالانکہ وہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے اعمال دنیا اور آخرت میں برباد ہوگئے اور وہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو حقیقتا خسارہ والے ہیں

যেমন করে তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তী লোকেরা তোমাদের চেয়ে বেশী ছিল শক্তিতে এবং ধন-সম্পদের ও সন্তান-সন্ততির অধিকারীও ছিল বেশী; অতঃপর উপকৃত হয়েছে নিজেদের ভাগের দ্বারা আবার তোমরা ফায়দা উঠিয়েছ তোমাদের ভাগের দ্বারা-যেমন করে তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তীরা ফায়দা উঠিয়েছিল নিজেদের ভাগের দ্বারা। আর তোমরাও বলছ তাদেরই চলন অনুযায়ী। তারা ছিল সে লোক, যাদের আমলসমূহ নিঃশেষিত হয়ে গেছে দুনিয়া ও আখেরাতে। আর তারাই হয়েছে ক্ষতির সম্মুখীন।
