O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they traveled through the land or went out to fight, "If they had been with us, they would not have died or have been killed," so Allah makes that [misconception] a regret within their hearts. And it is Allah who gives life and causes death, and Allah is Seeing of what you do.

O you who have faith! Do not be like the faithless who say of their brethren, when they travel in the land or go into battle, ‘Had they stayed with us they would not have died or been killed,’ so that Allah may make it a regret in their hearts. But Allah gives life and brings death, and Allah watches what you do.

O ye who believe! Be not as those who disbelieved and said of their brethren who went abroad in the land or were fighting in the field: If they had been (here) with us they would not have died or been killed: that Allah may make it anguish in their hearts. Allah giveth life and causeth death; and Allah is Seer of what ye do.

O ye who believe! Be not like the Unbelievers, who say of their brethren, when they are travelling through the Earth or engaged in fighting: "If they had stayed with us, they would not have died, or been slain." This that Allah may make it a cause of sighs and regrets in their hearts. It is Allah that gives Life and Death, and Allah sees well all that ye do.

O believers, be not as the unbelievers who say to their brothers, when they journey in the land, or are upon expeditions, 'If they had been with us, they would not have died and not been slain' -- that God may make that an anguish in their hearts. For God gives life, and He makes to die; and God sees the things you do.

ای اهل ایمان! مانند کسانی نباشید که کفر ورزیدند و درباره برادرانشان هنگامی که آنان به سفر رفتند [و در سفر مُردند] و یا جهادگر بودند [و شهید شدند]، گفتند: اگر نزد ما مانده بودند نمی مردند و شهید نمی شدند. [شما به کافران اعتنا نکنید] تا خدا این [اعتقاد و گفتار] را حسرتی در دل هایشان قرار دهد. و خداست که زنده می کند و می میراند؛ و خدا به آنچه انجام می دهید، بیناست.

ای کسانی که ایمان آورده‌اید، همچون کسانی نباشید که کفر ورزیدند؛ و به برادرانشان - هنگامی که به سفر رفته [و در سفر مردند] و یا جهادگر شدند [و کشته شدند]، گفتند: «اگر نزد ما [مانده‌] بودند، نمی‌مردند و کشته نمی‌شدند.» [شما چنین سخنانی مگویید] تا خدا آن را در دلهایشان حسرتی قرار دهد. و خدا[ست که‌] زنده می‌کند و می‌میراند، و خدا[ست که‌] به آنچه می‌کنید بیناست.

Ey İnananlar! Yolculuğa çıkan veya savaşa giden kardeşleri hakkında: "Onlar yanımızda olsalardı ölmezler ve öldürülmezlerdi" diyen inkarcılar gibi olmayın ki, Allah bunu onların kalblerinde bir hasret olarak bıraksın. Dirilten de öldüren de Allah'tır. Allah işlediklerinizi görür.

Hai orang-orang yang beriman, janganlah kamu seperti orang-orang kafir (orang-orang munafik) itu, yang mengatakan kepada saudara-saudara mereka apabila mereka mengadakan perjalanan di muka bumi atau mereka berperang: "Kalau mereka tetap bersama-sama kita tentulah mereka tidak mati dan tidak dibunuh". Akibat (dari perkataan dan keyakinan mereka) yang demikian itu, Allah menimbulkan rasa penyesalan yang sangat di dalam hati mereka. Allah menghidupkan dan mematikan. Dan Allah melihat apa yang kamu kerjakan.

اے ایمان والوں خبردار کافروں جیسے نہ ہوجاؤ جنہوں نے اپنے ساتھیوں کے سفر یا جنگ میں مرنے پر یہ کہنا شروع کردیا کہ وہ ہمارے پاس ہوتے تو نہ مرتے اور نہ قتل کئے جاتے.. خدا تمہاری علیحدگی ہی کو ان کے لئے باعجُ مسرّت قرار دینا چاہتا ہے کہ موت و حیات اسی کے اختیار میں ہے اور وہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے

হে ঈমাণদারগণ! তোমরা তাদের মত হয়ো না, যারা কাফের হয়েছে এবং নিজেদের ভাই বন্ধুরা যখন কোন অভিযানে বের হয় কিংবা জেহাদে যায়, তখন তাদের সম্পর্কে বলে, তারা যদি আমাদের সাথে থাকতো, তাহলে মরতোও না আহতও হতো না। যাতে তারা এ ধারণা সৃষ্টির মাধ্যমে সংশ্লিষ্টদের মনে অনুতাপ সৃষ্টি করতে পারে। অথচ আল্লাহই জীবন দান করেন এবং মৃত্যু দেন। তোমাদের সমস্ত কাজই, তোমরা যা কিছুই কর না কেন, আল্লাহ সবকিছুৃই দেখেন।
