And said, "I am your most exalted lord."

خیره‌سری تا کجا

به راستی عجیب است که این طاغیان خیره‌سر هنگامی که بر مرکب غرور و خودخواهی سوار می‌شوندء هیچ حد و مرزی را به رسمیت نمی‌شناسند و حتی به ادعای خدایی نیز قانع نیستند؛ بلکه می‌خواهند خدای خدایان شوند! در این سخن خیره‌سرانه آمده که اگر شما بت‌هایی را می‌پرستید. آنها در جای خود محترم» اما من برترین بت و معبود شما هستم. عجب این که فرعون که به شهادت آَیةُ ۱۲۷ سورةٌ اعراف خود یکی از بت‌پرستان بودء در اینجا ادعا می‌کند من پروردگار بزرگ شما هستم؛ یعنی خودش را حتی از معبود خویش نیز بالاتر می‌شمرد و این است بیهوده‌گویی‌های طاغوت‌ها. از طرف دیگر روشن است مردمی که در برابر سنگ و چوب سجده می‌کنند. برای پذیرش خدایان انسانی آمادگی بیشتری دارند و از این رو فرعون خود را برتر از همه بت‌ها می‌شمرد.
